If you are under the gun to move for economic reasons, keep in mind several things. No matter the circumstances that got you there, the sooner you face reality the better you will be. First, evaluate your current finances and what is your best course of action. Look at all of your things with a critical eye and begin to liquidate. Remember things can be replaced. I understand there may be some things that are of sentimental value. For those items, consider storing them with family or friends who you trust. Remember if you choose to store you things in a facility, you need to be in a position to keep up the monthly payments or else you may end up loosing it all.
If you have the time, sell as much as you can before you move. If you are under the gun, consider short-term storage until you can sell most of your items. Keep in mind that the less you have, the more nimble you will be, which will help you be flexible to pursue employment opportunities.
If you have found yourself in this unfortunate position, I wish you well. It will not be easy but if you keep focused and stay positive it well help you find the best course of action for you and your family.
