Moving? Consider Move for Hunger. We are in the peak of moving season and many of you are packing, purging and donating. I’ve written about Move for Hunger in the early days and they continue to grow, which makes me tremendously happy. Move for Hunger is a non-profit organization that works in concert with moving and relocation companies to donate unwanted food from moving customers to food pantries. They give back to the community one move at a time. Moving is stressful and time consuming, but you can still do your part. If you are using a moving company, ask if they participate. If not, encourage them to to do so. Doing it yourself? Consider taking your unwanted food to a food pantry instead of throwing it away. Moving offers us an opportunity to donate food, clothes and furnishings. Take the opportunity to give back to your community and remember keep the receipts for charitable deductions on your taxes.
